Custom App add-on EOL Announcement

Owing to Zoho Creator moving to the latest version, C5, we are unable to continue the support for Custom Apps functionality, which is powered by Zoho Creator (C4), in ServiceDesk Plus. In light of this, we have decided to stop the sale and support of the Custom Apps add-on.

Please note that you will not be able to access the app builder and the apps from within the ServiceDesk Plus Cloud UI from December 31st, 2020, and we will end the support for the current users from November 30th, 2020. However, the apps will still be available on Zoho Creator, and you can integrate the apps with ServiceDesk Plus Cloud using the available APIs. To make this transition better, we will be issuing free equivalent standalone licenses for Zoho Creator for the current subscription period.

We are looking for ways to better integrate Zoho Creator C5 with ServiceDesk Plus and will keep you posted on the developments in the coming days.

ServiceDesk Plus Cloud now offers application building platform capability by integrating with Zoho Creator. You can now build your custom applications to complement your IT Service Desk operations. Using custom apps you can build your own custom interface (forms) to collect service desk data and update request tickets in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud. You can pull important ticket data in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and display them in your own format. Not only that, you can define your own custom workflows within your apps. The usefulness of this platform extends much beyond IT – applications for Purchase Order Management, Financial Reporting, Human Resource On-Boarding, etc useful to other non-IT sections of the application can easily be built and run using data in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud.

A simple example is a conference room booking app that you can provide to your end-users. Using simple drag and drop fields, you can build a Conference Room booking app in minutes. One of the fields can be called ‘Equipment Required’ where you specify an asset like a laptop, projector, or TV monitor of your choice. The list of assets that you are to choose from would be populated with the asset data in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud. You can populate Requester, Site and Department data, etc as you add records to your Custom App.

In sum, here’s what you can do with the Custom App capability in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud,
