In General Settings for assets, you can configure the Invalid Service Tag, option for MAC address identification during a scan, and Scan History Clean up option to remove the scan history after the specified time interval.
While performing a scan, the Workstations and servers are uniquely identified based on its Service Tags, Name and MAC address. So when the service tags are not configured properly by the OEM, many machines would result in similar service tags. In such cases, if a scan is performed, one workstation details would be overwritten by the other. To avoid this, you can add the service tag under Invalid Service Tag list so that these service tags are ignored during a scan
To configure invalid service tags,
Go to Setup >> Probes & Discovery >> Settings.
In the Configure Invalid Service Tag section you will see the Invalid Service Tag list as shown below:

Click the + button.
In the space given enter the service tag.
Click Add. The Service Tag gets added to the Invalid service Tag list.
To delete the service tag click on the service tag you want to delete.
Click on the (-) button for the tag to get deleted
Click on the Save to apply the settings for invalid service tags
During a scan, each workstation or server is identified uniquely by its service tag, name or MAC address. But MAC address would be same in many machines in case of VMware or machines connected through VPN. So if you have a similar network environment, one machine's data would be overwritten by another. MAC address based machine identification can be enabled or disabled using the below option.
To enable/disable MAC address identification,
In the Enable/Disable MAC Address identification section select Enable MAC Address Identification or Disable MAC Address Identification
Click on the Save button to apply settings
Hardware / Software Changes that are identified more than one month back will be cleaned-up by default periodically. You can configure the number of months of history data to retain here.
For a scan history cleanup,
In the Scan History Cleanup section select the number of months from the dropdown list
Click Save to apply the settings for the scan to take place based on the time period selected by you
