Azure DevOps Integration
Azure DevOps is a cloud-based service that allows teams to plan work, collaborate on code development, build applications, and deploy applications.
With this integration, you can associate requests, changes, and change tasks with work items and projects in Azure DevOps.
You can also allow technicians to create new work items or projects from ServiceDesk Plus Cloud.
Enable Azure DevOps
Role Required: SDAdmin
To enable Azure DevOps integration,
- Go to Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Integrations > Third Party Integrations.
- On the Microsoft Azure DevOps card, click the toggle button to enable integration.

Configure Azure DevOps
To configure Azure DevOps,
- Go to Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Integrations > Third Party Integrations.
- On the Microsoft Azure DevOps card, click Configure
- Select the ServiceDesk Plus Cloud Roles that will have access to this integration.
- Click Save.

Create or Attach Projects in Azure DevOps
To create a project in Azure DevOps,
- Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps work entity should be created.
- In the RHS panel, click Create next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.

- New AzureDevOps Work Entity pop-up appears.
- Fill out the following details in the pop-up;
- Select Azure DevOps Work Entity - Choose Project.
- Select Organization - Choose your preferred organization.
- Project Title - Choose a title.
- Description - Choose a description.
- Project Process - Choose the process for the project.
- Visibility - Choose whether the project should be Private or Public.
- Version Control - Select the version between Git and Team Foundation Version Control
- Click Create.

To attach a project in Azure DevOps,
- Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
- In the RHS panel, click Attach next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
- Select your preferred project from the Attach Azure DevOps Work Entity pop-up.
- Click Attach.

Create or Attach Work items in Azure DevOps
To create a work item in an existing project,
- Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
- In the RHS panel, click Create next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.

- New AzureDevOps Component pop-up appears.
- Fill out the following details in the pop-up;
- Select Azure DevOps Component - Choose Work item.
- Select Organization - Choose your preferred organization.
- Select Project - Choose the project to which the work item should be associated.
- Enter Title - Choose your preferred title.
- Select Work Item Type - Choose your preferred work item type.
- Click Create.

To attach a work item in Azure DevOps,
- Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
- In the RHS panel, click Attach next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
- Select your preferred work item from the Attach Azure DevOps Work item pop-up.
- Click Attach.

View Associated Projects and Work Items
To view the associated projects and work items,
- Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity has been created.
- In the RHS panel, click View Work Item or View Project.

Detach Project or Work item
- In the RHS panel, click Detach next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
- Enter your reason for detaching the project or work item.
