User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is the stage in which some users evaluate the implemented change under real-world scenarios. Based on their experience during the testing period, the UAT members provide their consent on approving the change.
For example, let us consider the change request to replace the WiFi routers in an organization. During UAT stage, few routers will be installed at specific places in the organization premises. Users in these places will connect to the respective routers and note down the issues if any. After testing it for a specific period, these users provide their feedback and thus approve the implemented change.
Role required: UAT owner, Change role with view/edit permissions for UAT stage.
UAT Owner
The UAT owner creates the test plans, assigns tasks, and organizes all other activities in the UAT stage. The final acceptance is also given by the UAT owner, after which the change proceeds to the release stage.
