In ServiceDesk Plus Cloud, you can allow or restrict technician access to certain CI types.
For example, you can configure fine-grained access for the network team to allow them access to specific CI Types related to their team.
Go to Setup > Users & Permissions > Fine-Grained Access.
Select CMDB from the filter drop-down at the top.
Click New FGA.

Enter a name and description for the Fine-Grained Access configuration (FGA).

Select technicians to associate with this FGA. You can associate a maximum of 100 technicians from this page. To add more technicians, use the Manage Technicians option in the CMDB FGA list view.
Select the CI types technicians should have access to. When a parent CI type is selected, its child CI types are also selected.
Select All CI Types to grant technicians access to all CI types. When you choose All CI Types, Advanced Criteria will be mandated.
To fine-tune access based on specific criteria, configure the Use Advanced Criteria option. Dynamic variables support is provided for all user and technician fields. For example, John and Sam are from different sites. You can specify that John and Sam are granted access to CI types in their own sites using dynamic variables.
