For easier channelization, users can be categorized under Static and Dynamic groups.
Under Static group, you define the group by listing its members.
Under Dynamic group, resources are grouped automatically based on certain criteria set by the administrator.
To create a new group,
Go to Assets and click Group >> All Groups in the left panel. This displays the list of available groups.
Click New Group.
Alternatively, you can open the new group form by clicking Quick Actions
>> Asset - Groups >> New Group.
Specify the Group Name in the given text field. This is a mandatory field.
Specify relevant information about the newly created group in the Description field. Say the group name is Test DL600 you can specify Test DL600 stands for Dell Lateral 600.
Select any of the Group Type by enabling the radio button. Say Static or Dynamic group.
Static Group: You define the group by listing its members.
Dynamic Group: Resources are grouped automatically based on certain criteria.
Click the Save button to save the group. You can see the newly created group listed in the left panel.
Once the group is created you have to add resources to the group.
To add resources to the Static group,
Click Add Resource to Group. A pop up opens with the list of all assets.
Select the resources to be added to the group by enabling the checkbox. You can further drill down the asset list using filters and search options.
Click Add. You can see the selected resource added to the group, shown under the Resources in group column.
To add resources to the Dynamic Group,
You define the filter criteria by selecting the Criteria and Conditions from the combo box. The conditions list options will be based on the selected criteria.
Choose the resource or workstation criteria listed based on the criteria you have selected. For example: If you have selected resource criteria as Product Type and conditions as is then the list of all product types say scanners, keyboard, printers, etc will be listed.
Select any one of the Match Criteria by selecting either of the radio buttons. Say (And) or (OR) criteria.
Click Save to view the list of all resources based on the filter criteria.
