Escalation Policies

In an escalation policy, you can specify the users to be notified or the incident template to create a request immediately when an alert is triggered or left unattended for specific duration.

You can add up to five escalation levels in one policy.

To create an escalation policy,

Field

Description

Name

Give the escalation policy a name.

Immediately Notify

Select the user/contact to notify or the incident template to create a request immediately when an alert is triggered.

You can also choose to do nothing.

Mins

Specify the timeout period after which the alert will be escalated.

If Alert is not

Specify the status to which the alert must be updated within the timeout period. 

Then Notify

Select the user to notify if the alert is not updated to the specified status within the timeout period, or select the incident template to use if the request is not created immediately when the alert is triggered.

To add more escalation levels, click the plus icon.

The timeout period in each escalation level is calculated from the moment the alert is triggered.

Edit/Delete an Escalation Policy: Click the required policy and click Edit or Delete  next to its title.
