Import Data


Step 1: Choose File

  1. Go to Setup > Data Administration > Import Data
  2. Choose the record you want to import using the Select Module dropdown.
  3. Choose how you would like to import: Add records and update if already exists, Update if already exists, Delete existing records and add or Ignore duplicate records.
  4. Select the import file format. Available formats for all types of records are .csv, .xls, .xlsx. Additionally, the records in the Project module also support .mpp (Microsoft Projects) format.
  5. Click Choose file to import file and then select the character encoding format. If the file format is .mpp,  you can add files from the local computer using the  icon or by dragging the files into the box.
  6. Click Next.

 

 

Enter Sheet Number if the selected file format is .xls or .xlsx.
You can also import .mpp files from the cloud. To import from the cloud, select Attach files from Cloud by clicking the dropdown beside the icon.
Supported .mpp formats for projects : Project 98, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016.

Step 2: Customize Mapping

Map the record fields with the column names in the CSV file. If you are importing data to a custom module, select the custom module to load the fields configured in the custom module.

 

 

While importing vendors, you can enable Import Associated Product Details checkbox to map vendors with existing products. If the product specified is not found in the application, a new product will be created and mapped with the imported vendor.

If a vendor's name is duplicated in the imported file, multiple products will be mapped to the same vendor.

 

 

With respect to importing projects from .mpp files, the respective attributes from MS projects can be mapped to the attributes in SDP cloud.

 


 

Ensure you have mapped all mandatory fields and click Next. The mandatory fields for different types of records are as follows.

Ensure all scheduler fields are mapped and filled according to their respective frequencies.

 

Modules should now be specified in the CSV files for importing worklogs. For worklogs in requests, problems, releases, and changes use Request, Problem, Release, and Change as values for the Module column respectively. For task worklogs, use General Task, Request Task, Change Task, Problem Task, Release Task, Project Task, and Milestone Task as values for the respective tasks. 

Click Import Now to initiate the data import.

You can view the import status under Import History.
