Microsoft Intune Devices

Devices imported through Microsoft Intune integration are stored under IT assets in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud. These devices are classified as smartphones, tablets, and workstations.

View Intune Devices 

You can view the devices imported from Microsoft Intune under Assets. The imported devices contain a Microsoft Intune logo beside them in the assets list view.

 

 

The imported devices can be partially edited or deleted. However, a manual sync overrides the edits with Microsoft Intune data.

Any changes made to the assets in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud will not be reflected in the  relevant devices in Microsoft Intune.

The following fields are non-editable in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud:

Imported devices cannot be scanned in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud.

Intune Actions 

Following are actions that can be performed on devices imported from Microsoft Intune:

 

Intune actions can be performed only on assets (smartphones, tablets, and workstations) imported from Microsoft Intune.

 

To Perform Intune Actions

  1. Go to the assets list view page.

  2. Click Intune Actions.

  3. Select the required action from the available options:

Explanation

Delete

Removes selected devices from Microsoft Intune. Performs action on an asset in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud as configured in Microsoft Intune integration page.
Deleted devices will no longer have access to the organization resources. If a user tries to check in the deleted device, the data on the device will be wiped.

  • To delete devices, select them and click Delete Devices.

Retire

Removes selected devices from Microsoft Intune and deletes organization data. Retired devices will no longer have access to organization resources.
Note: Personal data will not be removed.

  • To retire devices, select the devices from the drop-down and click Retire Devices.

Wipe

Restores devices to its default factory settings. Both organization and personal data will be removed from the devices.
Note: You cannot undo the wipe action.

  • To wipe devices, select the operating system and devices from the respective drop-downs.

  • Click Wipe Devices.

Sync

Forces devices to sync with Microsoft Intune and imports any pending actions or policies assigned to the devices.

  • To sync devices, select the devices from the drop-down and click Sync Devices.

Restart

Restarts the device without acknowledgement of the device owner.

  • Select the operating system and devices from the drop-down.

  • Click Restart Devices.

Send Notification

Sends custom messages to devices. The information shared from ServiceDesk Plus will be notified on the locked screen of the devices.
