You can sequence the tasks to be performed within a project by using task dependency mapping. Task dependencies give privileged users, such as Project Admin and Project Manager, better visibility to the project and also help them in keeping the task owners well informed. Task dependencies are important because sometimes the result of one task will form the input details for the following task.
Dependency mapping restricts users from closing tasks until the dependent tasks are closed.
Based on your permissions, you can mark dependency between these tasks:
To map dependency for project tasks or for tasks across a project's milestones, you require project-level [Edit] permission.
Click a project and select:
Go to Tasks and click
in the top right corner.

Click the first task to be completed and drag the arrow to the second task as shown:

In the above example, Server Box Migration depends on Downtime Analysis.
Then, repeat the process with the second task as the source node and the last task as the target node.

At any time you want to delete dependencies, hover the mouse pointer over the dependency link and click the Remove icon displayed.

If you're on the Manage Task Dependency page of any milestone, your current milestone and its tasks will be highlighted as shown:

A project member with milestone level [Edit] permission can map dependency only for tasks within the associated milestone.
Click a project milestone and select:
Go to Tasks >> Task Dependency as shown:

Tasks (of the project and other milestones) that are linked to your current milestone tasks will also be displayed. Milestones are denoted with orange icons while tasks are denoted with brown icons. These task names will be displayed if you own them. Otherwise, they will be displayed as an Unauthorized Task.
For the following users, corresponding task dependency mapping will be displayed in the Information-only format:
You can view the map in full screen, reload the page, alter the layout, save the dependency map as a PDF document, and review the recent changes using the options in the upper-right of the page.

In the task list view within a project or a milestone, dependent tasks will be displayed with the icon
