Define closure rules for each release stage to mandate specific fields or task completion. Closure rules ensure that users mandatorily follow certain steps in the release management process. Only the SDAdmin can configure release closure rules.
If fields in a stage are mandated by closure rules, then those fields must have been filled out to move the release request to the next stage.
If task completion is mandated for a stage, all tasks in that stage must have been completed to move the release request to the next stage.
Go to Setup
>> Automation >> Closure Rules >> Release Closure Rules.
Select your preferred mandatory fields and/or tasks required to complete in each stage of the release.
Finally, click Save.

Enable stage approval to move the release request to the next stage only after all approvals in the current stage are addressed.
Choose one of the following options:
All Approvals Approved: The release request moves to the next stage when stage approvers approve all approvals in that stage.
All Approvals Completed: The release request moves to the next stage when stage approvers either approve or reject the approvals in that stage.

All mandatory fields and actions in each stage under Release Closure Rules must be completed to close a release request.
When a release request is closed without completing all mandatory closure properties for each stage, a Closure Rule Violation error pop-up is displayed.
The pop-up lists all closure violations, including links to the corresponding fields or tasks that need to be completed.
Click the links to fill out the mandatory fields or complete the tasks in order to close the release request.
