Triggers for CMDB enables you to define specific conditions and configure actions such as initiating notifications, webhooks or custom actions for CMDB that satisfy these conditions. With triggers, you can also act upon third-party applications using webhooks or custom functions.
To configure triggers for CMDB,
Go to Setup >> Automation >> Triggers.
Select Triggers for CMDB in the drop-down.
Click New Trigger.
In the displayed form, provide a Name and Description for the trigger.
Select whether the trigger must execute when an CMDB is Created, Edited, or Deleted.
The Enable Trigger checkbox will be selected by default. Deselect this if you want to deactivate the trigger upon configuration.
Select the CMDB to which the trigger applies from the drop-down list. You can apply the trigger to all CMDB or a specific CMDB type.
Under the Conditions section, select whether to Apply conditions based on criteria or to Apply no condition. Selecting Apply no condition will imply that the trigger applies to all CMDB in the application.
If you choose to apply conditions based on criteria, provide the criteria using the drop-down lists.
Select whether to execute the trigger each time the criteria is met or only the first time. This option will be visible only if you choose to apply the trigger when the CMDB is edited.
Under Actions, choose the type of action the trigger must execute. You can choose either Custom Functions, Webhook, or Notification or all of them, any number of times. Click here to learn more.
